Step right up and add fun and engagement to your event with the Climate Carnival! The games suit all skill levels and draw in kids of all ages while prompting climate questions and discussions. They are available for events all around Silicon Valley and the Bay Area.
Play is a wonderful way to open people to easy coversation. In fact, we’ve already reached over 12,000 players at more than 120 events with groups like 350 Silicon Valley, Citizens Climate Lobby, The ExplOratorium and many businesses and schools!
Each game is sustainably hand built from 100% reclaimed wood using minimal paint and renewable energy. Most of the games can be played with 2-4 players per round, promoting teamwork, cooperation and laughs.
In ‘The Pitfalls’ you guide our planet around Apathy, Fear, Animal Agriculture and Fossil Fuel Dependence up to a Bright Future in this skill testing rope pulling game of coordination. Play with one player or work as a team to navigate around nine Pitfalls, following a beginner or intermediate path. The game is double sided for up to 4 players to enjoy at the same time.
Once you’ve got the hang of it you may even try the ‘Full Thunberg’ and circumvent all the hazards to drop the world safely into it’s Bright Future portal, top right. The game is double sided allowing up to four players at a time.
The twins are super late for Mom’s birthday party! Spin the wheel and race them across town and find out who can make it to Mom’s first and deliver her present. Simpler than it looks, this fun ‘snakes and ladders’ style game promotes active mobility with green short cuts like bike lanes, walkways and public transit. Try not to get slowed down in traffic, rush hour or looking for parking though, ugh! Quick game-play allows two players to enjoy a race in about 4 minutes.
The Tower of Found Sound makes a big impact as a musical playground of everyday objects. It’s packed with loads of improvised instruments to freely explore, encouraging cooperation, collaboration and fun. This eco-friendly, 100% recycled sound sculpture helps us re-imagine how we see (and hear) waste products, saved from the landfill. ♻️
A speedy puzzle building game where the player uses 16 cubes to build their choice of six colorful climate cartoons. Fun to play & fun to watch.
Just how much will the earth support? Find out by taking turns rolling the die and balancing more and more burdens on the disk. Fossil Fuel Emissions, Transportation Emissions, Industrial Emissions, Animal Agriculture, it all adds up until the Earth reaches it’s TIPPING POINT, then it’s game over.
A smaller table top version of Tipping Point for up to 4 players. Can you balance over 50 blocks without overwhelming the earth? Industrial Emissions, Animal Agriculture, Transportation Emissions, Oceans Heating, Fossil Fuel Emissions and Deforestation all stack up to throw off our delicate balance. Last player to add a block without tipping the world, wins!
Ever wanted to just knock down those obstacles to a sustainable future? Now you can by playing Knock ‘Em Out!
Players toss soft bean bags at nine common barriers to sustainability. So cathartic! Can you Knock ‘Em all Out with your ten bean bags? Easy to reset, just stand the hinged targets back up, over and over.
The bean bags are made from up-cycled jeans and filled with pop corn kernels.
Packed with fun climate info, the Tipping Tower will test your knowledge and your dexterity! Take turns carefully pulling blocks, guessing answers, and stacking the tower higher and higher until… it tips. Last person to go before it tumbles, wins! A QR code on the base box links to •this page• with all the source information used in the climate quiz questions.
An easy table top marble rolling game to high-lite positive actions we can take everyday. The player lifts and tilts the game tray to ‘plant’ all nine ‘seeds’ into their holes as quickly as possible. Super fun and quick game, especially for younger players. Sparks those vital little conversations about climate action!
In ‘Solar Roller’ players generate some fun by solving this table top maze game! Guide the sun from the edge of darkness to energize solar panels in the center of the puzzle.
A classic game with a global twist. Toss the earth and catch it safely back in it’s circle. Best out of ten? Trick toss - catch it on the flip side? I made two so a couple people can just pick ‘em up and play.
This handheld game dynamically illustrates the delicate balance and interdependence of food chains. If one link falls, they all fall. Start by holding the earth at the top, then bring each species up under the previous one to support it until you’re balancing a mini eco-system from the top down. We have two so far, one is African Savana based and the other is an Ocean based version. Fun conversation starter about food webs and nature conservancy!
